We are seeking a CNC Machinist for our client in the metals industry. This role sets up and proves out new parts, produces machined components to shop traveler specifications, verifies quality, and completes the paperwork and computer entries required for each production order.

Pay: $20–$24 per hour

Duties

• Receive order from Production Planner
• Allocate, pull, and load material
• Set up machine and run job
• Inspect products using precision measuring tools
• Clean, deburr, label, and stage finished parts
• Offload scrap or stock and return any materials as needed
• Process job through the system and maintain an organized, clean work area
• Verify quality to ensure the product meets the customer’s specifications
• Perform setup and prove out first part runs
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings to verify completed parts meet requirements
• Coordinate with programming for any program changes
• Report any problems or needs to the Production Supervisor
• Regularly clean and maintain equipment and machinery
• Troubleshoot CNC functions
• Adhere to company safety rules, quality standards, and procedures
• Keep immediate work area clean and organized throughout the day
• Train other team members on CNC machine operations as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Five or more years of machine setup & operating experience
• Good organizational, problem solving, and time management skills
• Ability to measure using different tools
• Ability to use pneumatic and hand tools
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction

Preferred Qualifications

• Coursework in metalworking, blueprint reading, drafting and math
• Five years’ CNC machine operating and setup experience

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Work may involve sitting, standing, using hands and fingers, kneeling, crawling, twisting, balancing, bending, climbing, speaking, listening, and close vision at 36 inches or less. Lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, with assistance and/or a lifting device as needed. The role requires frequent visual and auditory attention to recognize maintenance and service needs involving facilities, machines, and vehicles. The work environment may include hazardous machinery, sharp tools, moving objects, noise, heat, and humidity.
