Bridge Mill / VTL - Machine Operator

Pay: $18-24

Overview:
We are hiring an experienced Bridge Mill/VTL Machine Operator to operate large-scale CNC equipment used for machining heavy and complex components. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in large-part machining and precision manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate bridge mills (gantry mills) and vertical turning lathes (VTLs)
• Load and position large materials using cranes or forklifts
• Install tooling, set offsets, and prepare machines for operation
• Run CNC programs and monitor machining performance
• Adjust speeds, feeds, and offsets as needed
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
• Use precision measuring instruments for large components
• Change tooling and assist with program adjustments
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain equipment

Qualifications:

• Experience operating large CNC machines (Bridge Mill or VTL preferred)
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge
• Familiarity with CNC controls (Fanuc, Siemens, Mazak, etc.)
• Understanding of machining processes and materials
• Crane/rigging experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and safety

Preferred Certifications:

• NIMS or machining certifications
• OSHA 10/30
• Forklift or overhead crane certification
