AI Data Architect

Responsibilities Build, optimize, and maintain the data pipelines that feed BAA's AI solutions, connecting structured and unstructured data from Snowflake, Epicor, Salesforce, and SharePoint. Automate ingestion and structuring of unstructured data (PDFs, manuals, contracts, emails) for RAG architectures. Map complex enterprise data schemas to identify required tables, fields, and payloads. Build and maintain development and testing environments for rapid experimentation without risking production. Design and implement RBAC and security protocols within the AI environment. Prevent data leakage across departments by constraining AI model access at the pipeline level. Serve as the infrastructure checkpoint before cognitive architecture development; confirm pipeline stability, RBAC compliance, and data integrity. Monitor data flows for drift, broken APIs, or context collapse; ensure outputs remain accurate and safe. Establish and maintain SLAs for pipeline uptime; detect and communicate failures before user impact. Develop secure API integrations between enterprise AI platforms and BAA's existing technology stack. Act as technical liaison to BAA IT and Global Data Architecture to ensure provisioning, access, and networking meet standards. Advocate for the AI Studio's technical needs within the broader IT governance ecosystem. Implement automated alerting systems for data pipeline failures. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Deep technical expertise in SQL, enterprise data lakes, and ETL/ELT pipeline construction. Strong proficiency in building and securing API integrations between cloud and on-premises systems. Experience implementing security frameworks and RBAC at database and application layers. Exceptional troubleshooting and debugging skills; diagnose integration issues across legacy platforms independently. Comfort operating in a small, fast-moving team owning workstreams end-to-end. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years related work experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience equal to 10 years preferred. 3+ years experience in data engineering, data architecture, or database administration within an enterprise environment.
