Job Summary
The TGCM Technician is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining bulk gas and specialty chemical delivery systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role performs preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, system monitoring, and troubleshooting while adhering to strict safety, environmental, and quality standards. The technician also supports emergency response activities, hazardous waste management (where applicable), and continuous operational excellence through training and compliance with company procedures.
Job Description
- Maintain and operate liquid bulk and specialty gas/chemical delivery equipment
- Perform minor inspections and preventive maintenance on gas and chemical equipment
- Conduct daily rounds, including recording readings, completing safety inspections, monitoring online gas and chemical systems, verifying toxic gas monitoring operations, and performing chemical tote/drum and gas cylinder change-outs
- Monitor and follow the correct liquid bulk delivery procedures for each product on site
- Perform bulk gas and chemical trailer transfers
- Perform minor analytical and/or sampling procedures
- Complete assigned tasks in accordance with established procedures
- Make initial evaluations and obtain appropriate assistance when confronted with problem situations
- Participate in customer and company programs, including Safety, Training, Operations, and Preventive Maintenance
- Support the training of TGCM contractors as needed
- Actively serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team
- Comply with all applicable HS&E standards, including but not limited to PPE, Forklift Operations, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and Confined Space Entry procedures
- Ensure the safety of all personnel and the general public surrounding the facility
- Hazardous Waste Technician (at applicable operations locations):
- Ensure proper transfer of materials to the dock hazardous waste storage area, including utilization of appropriate maintenance, documentation, equipment, labelling, and procedures
- Follow proper procedures for handling spills/emergencies, pour-up of materials, segregation of compatible materials, preparation for waste/containers for shipment, and forklift operation
- Support waste minimization programs/activities, and maintain understanding of applicable hazardous waste laws
Skills Required
- Experience in the semiconductor or chemical/specialty gas field, military technical/electronic rating or nuclear field, or equivalent industry
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong mechanical and electromechanical aptitude
- Ability to understand and adhere to stringent safety and quality standards
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work effectively in emergency or high-stress situations while performing problem-solving tasks safely and efficiently
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn
Education/Training/Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to pass a drug screening and criminal background check
- Ability to wear a respirator as part of required PPE for certain job tasks
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 40 lbs
- Ability to stand/walk up to 11 hours per day
- Ability to operate hydraulic foot pump (55-gallon drums - drums could be up to 500 lbs.)
- Job requires constant bending to successfully complete shift tasks (validating information, checking systems, etc.)
Pay Rate/Salary
- $27.50/hr. Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location
