About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Product Design to lead the redefinition of the sports app experience. The successful candidate will be a design leader with a hands-on, opinionated approach, and a deep passion for sports. This role is pivotal in shaping the product vision and prototyping the future, with a focus on creating working prototypes and concepts that demonstrate the next-generation sports app. The VP of Product Design will be a strategic voice in product direction, bringing data-backed insights to the table and ensuring that design has a significant impact on the business. Day-to-day responsibilities include craft leadership, staying involved in the design process, and leading the transformation of the design practice to be AI-native. The role also involves building and managing a design organization, fostering collaboration with cross-functional teams, and being part of the leadership team at the company. Applicants for this role at the company should be sports fans first and foremost, with a track record of hands-on design leadership at a senior level. Experience in leading a design team through a significant change, particularly in the context of AI tooling and workflow, is essential. The ideal candidate will have strong opinions about what makes a sports product great and the conviction to defend those opinions in a business setting. Comfort in operating in ambiguity and the ability to collaborate effectively with leaders from various disciplines are also key requirements. While not mandatory, experience in starting or running a company or side project is a nice-to-have.
