About the role: The Orthodontic Assistant is a key member of our clinical team, responsible for providing all aspects of clinical patient care in a professional, efficient, and caring manner. The Orthodontic Assistant is performing a wide range of orthodontic procedures, as well as assisting the doctor during appointments, sterilization procedures, and occasional minor lab work. Must be willing to travel to all three locations: Silverdale, Poulsbo, and Port Orchard. Key Responsibilities Prepare patients for treatment by welcoming, comforting, and seating them. Build positive relationships with patients, families, and coworkers. Enter detailed chart/record notations in the practice management system. Take x-rays, photos, impressions, and intraoral scans. Provide patient instruction/education. Provide reports to parents/guardians. Assist the Orthodontist with consultations and all stages of orthodontic procedures. Clean/disinfect operatories and sterilize instruments and devices. Set up trays and prepare brackets for bonding. Perform other tasks as assigned by the Doctor, Clinical Lead, and Practice Manager. Qualifications Dental experience is required; Orthodontic experience is preferred. Washington State Registered Dental Assistant. Good understanding of relevant health and safety regulations. Proficiency with orthodontic/dental management software systems is preferred, but not required. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build strong relationships and rapport with patients, parents, doctors, fellow team members, and the community.
