Position Summary

The Staffing Coordinator/CNA is responsible for coordinating nursing staff schedules while also providing direct resident care as a Certified Nursing Assistant. This position helps ensure adequate staffing coverage and supports the nursing department in providing safe, compassionate, and quality care to residents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Staffing Coordinator Duties

• Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly nursing schedules.

• Schedule CNAs and other nursing staff as assigned.

• Monitor staffing levels and identify open shifts or staffing needs.

• Arrange coverage for callouts, vacations, and other absences.

• Communicate schedule changes to staff in a timely manner.

• Maintain accurate staffing and attendance records.

• Monitor overtime and assist with maintaining appropriate staffing levels.

• Work closely with the Director of Nursing and nursing supervisors regarding staffing needs.

• Assist with scheduling new employees and maintaining employee availability records.

• Maintain confidentiality of employee and resident information.

CNA Duties

• Provide quality direct care to residents according to their care plans.

• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and other activities of daily living.

• Assist with transfers, repositioning, ambulation, and mobility.

• Answer call lights and respond promptly to residents’ needs.

• Obtain and document vital signs and other assigned information.

• Observe residents for changes in condition and report concerns to the nurse.

• Document care accurately and timely.

• Maintain resident dignity, privacy, safety, and comfort.

• Follow infection control and facility safety procedures.

• Maintain a clean and safe environment.

• Perform other duties within the scope of CNA certification and facility policy.

Qualifications

• Current Florida CNA certification in good standing.

• Previous CNA experience preferred.

• Previous staffing or scheduling experience preferred.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Basic computer skills and ability to learn scheduling software.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
