Payroll Benefits Manager

Robert Half is working with a growing professional services firm to hire a Payroll & Benefits Manager. This is a standalone role reporting directly to the Human Resources Director, giving the right person full ownership of the payroll and benefits function for a population of roughly 600 employees across the United States. What you'll be doing:

Payroll

• Overseeing full-cycle, multi-state payroll processing for exempt and non-exempt employees
• Managing strategic payroll functions including reporting, state registrations, and tax filings
• Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Partnering with leadership on payroll reporting, audits, and process improvements

Benefits

• Negotiating benefits contracts and managing relationships with brokers and carriers
• Evaluating current plans and recommending competitive, cost-effective options
• Leading the implementation of new benefit plans
• Overseeing open enrollment from planning through execution
• Administering qualifying life events and serving as the main resource for employee benefits questions

What we're looking xhyhwjd for:

• 5+ years of experience specifically in payroll and benefits
• Strong systems skills, with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred
• Excellent Excel skills
• Great communication skills and the ability to explain payroll and benefits topics clearly to employees at all levels
• A self-starter who can work autonomously and take full ownership of a function
• Multi-state payroll experience is a plus
