The Floor Manager is responsible for overseeing daily front-of-house operations in a fast-paced, high-volume bar. This role ensures exceptional customer service, efficient staff performance, smooth workflow, and compliance with company policies and alcohol service regulations. The Floor Manager acts as the primary point of contact for guests and staff during service, maintaining a positive atmosphere while maximizing operational efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate front-of-house staff, including bartenders, servers, hosts, security personnel, and support staff.
- Monitor floor operations to ensure efficient service and guest satisfaction during high-volume periods.
- Address and resolve guest concerns, complaints, and service issues promptly and professionally.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate daily goals, promotions, and operational updates.
- Ensure compliance with alcohol service laws, health regulations, and company policies.
- Monitor staff performance, provide coaching, and assist with training and development.
- Manage staffing levels, section assignments, and break schedules to maintain service standards.
- Collaborate with management to achieve sales goals and control labor costs.
- Assist with inventory management, cash handling procedures, and end-of-shift reporting.
- Coordinate with security staff to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
- Support special events, promotions, and peak business periods to maximize guest experience and revenue.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards throughout the venue.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in bar, restaurant, nightlife, or hospitality management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of POS systems, cash handling, and inventory procedures.
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
