You will serve as a Financial Services Specialist and be responsible for assisting the Comptroller in providing professional accounting services and performing a full range of reconciliation and analysis function in the execution and oversite of Base Cape Cod's multi-million dollar operating expense budget..

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:

• Assists with the oversight of budgeting and the accompanying maintenance of official accounting records..
• Completes cost analysis, internal controls and compiling required reports..
• Reviews financial activities to determine adherence to current policies and procedures..
• Monitors and conducts extensive analysis of finances to identify real or potential situations of impropriate, ensuring proper Coast Guard financial procedures are adhered to.

Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-09 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.

• Experience in analyzing financial and budget activities and monitoring funds.
• Experience in preparing financial reports and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Experience in evaluating financial programs and recommending improvements or corrective actions.

Master's or equivalent graduate degree

OR

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B.

J.D., if related
