Senior Manager, Product Design

Xometry is looking for a Senior Manager of Product Design to lead a team of designers within one or more Strategic Product and Technology Organizations (STOs). You are accountable for delivery, quality, and team performance. This is not a coordination role. You are responsible for ensuring your team delivers clear, high-quality, executable design work on time, with no surprises through leadership and hands‑on execution. You will partner with Product and Engineering leadership to shape direction, enforce standards, and remove ambiguity. Responsibilities Lead and develop a team of designers (Senior and mid-level) Set clear expectations for ownership, quality, and communication Hold designers accountable for outcomes, not just outputs Address performance issues directly and quickly Ensure work is complete, structured, and ready for Engineering Enforce a clear definition of done Surface risks and tradeoffs early Partner with Product and Engineering to define scope and priorities Ensure UX is influencing direction, not reacting to requirements Resolve ambiguity and alignment issues quickly Ensure design outputs are structured and unambiguous Support workflows that enable AI‑assisted development Drive adoption of tools and practices that improve speed and reduce rework Maintain a high bar for interaction design, usability, and consistency Ensure alignment with design systems and accessibility standards Lead design reviews focused on clarity and execution readiness Qualifications 10+ years of experience in user research, including 2+ years managing researchers Proven track record of driving product decisions through research Experience working closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams Strong ability to translate insights into clear recommendations Experience operating in fast‑paced, product‑driven environments Excellent communication and storytelling skills Examples of AI‑assisted workflows in portfolio (e.g., AI‑generated prototypes, prompt‑driven design systems, AI‑supported research synthesis) Experience with B2B, marketplace, or operational platforms Experience working with design systems and component‑based design Exposure to AI‑assisted design or development workflows Experience scaling teams or processes in growing organizations The estimated base salary range for new hires into this role is $180,000–$200,000 annually + commission depending on factors such as job‑related skills, relevant experience, and location.
