BAS Senior Accountant I Summary
A Business Advisory Services (BAS) Senior Accountant I organizes and coordinates clients’ tax data for the accurate, timely completion of individual tax returns and simple to moderately complex corporate, partnership, and S-Corp tax returns. This position also involves QuickBooks consulting and training, outsourced accounting, and requires frequent collaboration with other departments.
BAS Senior Accountant I Responsibilities
- Communicates with engagement leaders and clients regarding open items and other pertinent matters in a timely manner.
- Performs tax return interviews with clients as needed.
- Provides technical assistance to clients in all areas of accounting.
- Leads client QuickBooks Training.
- Prepares required tax returns in accordance with firm and professional standards as directed by engagement leaders.
- Creates, reconciles and ties out trial balances.
- Reviews basic accounting trial balance.
- Trains and mentors staff on simple accounting and tax returns.
- Proactively manages project timelines and budgets.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in accounting or tax preparation preferred.
- Active CPA licensure preferred.
- Minimum of 40 hours of continuing professional education is required each year.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel.
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online.
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
