Special Education Itinerant Teacher Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Itinerant Teacher to join our team! This job is located in Brooklyn, NY. Compensation is determined based on experience and education and will be discussed during the Special Education Itinerant Teacher interview process. Job Responsibilities Provide one on one special instruction to children aged 3 to 5 years in our CPSE program Educate family members and caregivers on different intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over. Work in diverse settings such as patient homes, family day care homes, daycare centers, and/or other community settings. Maintain accurate records of services provided; submit evaluationsandprogress reports in a timely manner Prepare progress reports as per program timelines Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and State & Federal regulations) and submit records to agency within established deadlines Requirements Must have a passion for working with children and families! One of the following NYS certifications/licenses: Students with Disabilities (Birth 2) Initial or Professional Certification OR Students with Disabilities All Grades, Initial or Professional Permanent Special Education Certification Must be self-motivated and a team player who exercises patience and professionalism. Fluency in a language other than English is a plus! Physical Requirements Must be able to travel to and from assigned cases, including but not limited to: Driving a personal vehicle, walking and/or the use of public transportation such as a bus or train. The ability to ascend and descend staircases. The ability to lift 10 pounds regularly. The ability to sit on the floor, kneel and/or crawl for extended periods of time.
