Associate Veterinarian

Location: Xenia, OH (Greater Dayton Area)

Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Compensation: $100,000-$115,000 per year

Relocation Assistance: Available

We are seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities through specially trained service dogs. You'll work with an established canine population of approximately 300-400 dogs, primarily retrievers, Labradors, and doodles, supporting their health from puppyhood through placement.

Responsibilities

•Perform routine wellness exams and preventive care

•Administer vaccinations and annual health evaluations

•Diagnose and treat common medical conditions

•Evaluate potential breeding dogs and participate in breeding program recommendations

•Perform routine surgical procedures, including spays, neuters, and mass removals

•Perform basic dental procedures as needed

•Coordinate specialty referrals when appropriate

•Maintain accurate medical records and communicate effectively with staff and volunteers

Qualifications

•Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary college

•Current Ohio Veterinary License in good standing or ability to obtain licensure

•Strong knowledge of canine medicine and preventive care

•Proficiency in routine surgical procedures

•Excellent communication and organizational skills

•Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications

•USDA Accreditation preferred

•Two or more years of veterinary experience preferred, but not required

•New graduates are encouraged to apply
