Job Title: Warehouse Worker Job Description

This role supports a high-tech, temperature-controlled warehouse where you will be cross-trained in picking, packaging, and receiving to ensure accurate and timely movement of materials and finished goods. You will work on either 1st or 2nd shift and use computers and RF scanners extensively while maintaining a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Pick, break down, and quality check orders accurately and deliver them to production in a timely manner.

• Pick and prepare orders that ship directly to customers, ensuring correct items, quantities, and labeling.

• Verify materials received against purchase requisitions to confirm accuracy and completeness.

• Ensure products are received from vendors in a timely and accurate manner, resolving discrepancies as needed.

• Check in returned materials, including RMA (Return Material Authorization) and RTV (Return to Vendor) items, and document them correctly.

• Report damages and discrepancies for accounting, reimbursement, and record-keeping purposes.

• Stock bins and shelves with parts from receiving carts, the receiving area, and return-to-stock shelves, maintaining organized and accurate inventory locations.

• Prepare skids for freight shipments, including wrapping, strapping, and labeling to meet shipping and safety requirements.

• Package systems and parts for shipment, ensuring proper packing materials, labels, and documentation are used.

• Perform quality control checks on systems and parts prior to shipment to confirm they meet specifications and standards.

• Operate a stand-up reach truck and other class 5 forklifts in accordance with OSHA requirements, when needed.

• Use RF scanners and computer systems to pick orders, track inventory, and update order status in real time.

• Print and apply labels for orders, bins, and shipments using warehouse technology and labeling tools.

• Complete semi-annual physical inventories and weekly cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records.

• Contribute actively to monthly team meetings by sharing ideas, feedback, and suggestions for process improvements.

• Support cross-functional warehouse tasks, including picking, packing, material handling, receiving, shipping, and inventory control as needed.

• Work scheduled shifts with the flexibility to work Saturdays when required, including the first and last Saturday of the month.

• Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards to keep the warehouse clean, organized, and compliant.

Essential Skills

• 1 to 3 years of warehouse experience.

• 1 to 3 years of RF scanner experience.

• 1 to 3 years of order picking experience.

• Strong computer skills, including the ability to use a computer and navigate a web browser on day one.

• Ability to use RF scanners effectively from the first day on the job.

• Comfort reading very small printed labels with a high level of accuracy.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly.

• Ability to read and write in English to follow instructions, labels, and system prompts.

• Attention to detail and accuracy in picking, packing, and inventory tasks.

• Comfort working with technology, including Chromebooks and other warehouse systems.

• Ability and willingness to work Saturdays when needed, including the first and last Saturday of the month.

• Capability to operate or learn to operate stand-up reach trucks and class 5 forklifts following OSHA requirements.

• Strong quality control mindset to identify and resolve errors before orders move to production or shipping.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a warehouse that handles computers, electronics, or similar technology products.

• Interest or passion for computers and technology, with curiosity about the products being built and shipped.

• Experience with shipping, receiving, and inventory processes in a high-tech or electronics environment.

• Familiarity with Chromebooks or similar devices used for warehouse operations.

• Experience using RF scanners, label printers, and warehouse management systems.

• Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.

• Track record of contributing ideas for process improvements during team meetings.

• Reliability in attendance and willingness to support team needs during peak periods, including occasional Saturdays.

Work Environment

The facility builds different types of computers and servers for a variety of customers and operates in a clean, highly organized, and fully temperature-controlled environment. The warehouse uses modern technology, including RF scanners, computers, Chromebooks, and label printing systems, with minimal heavy equipment use and selective operation of stand-up reach trucks and other forklifts following OSHA standards. Employees work on structured 1st shift (approximately 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) or 2nd shift (approximately 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.), with potential required Saturday work, including the first and last Saturday of the month when needed. The culture is relaxed and employee-friendly: team members can wear whatever attire they find comfortable and appropriate, and they may wear headphones during their shift while maintaining safety and awareness. The facility includes a large cafeteria stocked with free healthy snacks and drinks, a foosball table, other recreational activities, and a large TV for use during breaks. This is a Permanent position based out of Libertyville, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
