Laser Operator

Job Description Position Title: Laser Operator Wage: Up to $23.50/hour to start + $1.00 shift differential Shift: 2nd QPS Employment Group is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Laser Operator to join a manufacturing team in New Berlin, WI. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining laser cutting equipment to produce precision metal components that meet quality and production standards. This is an associate to hire opportunity. Laser Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines to cut metal materials according to specifications
• Interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings
• Load and unload materials safely and efficiently
• Adjust machine settings (speed, power, focus, etc.) for optimal performance and quality
• Inspect finished parts for accuracy, dimensions, and defects
• Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
• Monitor production processes and identify opportunities for improvement
• Maintain accurate production and quality documentation
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and quality personnel to meet production goals

Laser Operator Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred
• 1-3 years of experience operating laser cutting or CNC equipment (preferred)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with CNC programming (a plus)
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to lift up to 15-50 pounds and stand for extended periods
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork skills
• Preferred experience with sheet metal fabrication
• Preferred knowledge of metal types and thicknesses (steel, aluminum, stainless steel, etc.)
• Preferred familiarity with CAD/CAM software
• Preferred forklift or material handling experience
