Residential HVAC Field Service Specialist

At Southern Home Services (Dial Duron Service Co.), you’ll be the face of comfort for homeowners who rely on safe, efficient heating and cooling. Picture your day: you pre-trip your vehicle, review the first work order, and head out to restore comfort in a family’s home. You diagnose, explain, and solve problems — all while keeping safety, quality, and customer care at the forefront.

In this field-based role, you’ll handle service, maintenance, and repair for residential HVAC systems (and occasionally light commercial), ensuring equipment runs safely and efficiently. You’ll:

• Clean, tune, and repair systems — including air handlers, ducting, registers/vents, and condensate drainage.
• Diagnose performance issues and complete routine and emergency service in residential settings.
• Explain findings and recommended solutions to customers in a clear, professional manner.
• Conduct inspections, make adjustments/upgrades, and document every service performed.
• Follow safety regulations and maintain a tidy, organized work area and vehicle.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• 2–5+ years of HVAC experience, ideally focused on residential work.
• EPA Certification.
• Valid Driver’s License with at least three years of driving experience.
• Exceptional troubleshooting and critical-thinking ability for complex system issues.
• A positive, craftsman’s mindset with a dedication to top-notch workmanship.
• Customer-first approach with polished communication skills across all levels.
• Team-oriented, adaptable, and energized by fast-paced, changing environments.

• Lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Climb ladders; access attics and crawlspaces; navigate tight areas; push, pull, and carry; use hand tools; perform precise detail work.
• Drive between job sites.
• Work indoors and outdoors, including attics and crawlspaces.
• Stand, walk, sit; talk and hear in person and by phone.
• Use hands to handle or feel objects/controls; reach with hands and arms.
• Frequently stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
• Regular exposure to extreme heat/cold and weather such as wind, rain, ice, or snow.
