Performs selected and delegated nursing tasks in the care of patients. Completes patient physical assessment. Performs and/or delegates patient treatments as ordered by Provider and participates in education plan for patient/family.

I. Major Responsibilities:

• Assess and obtain a patients basic health status, records, and related data according to standard procedure and needs of patient and their families.
• Administers medications, performs treatment as ordered, and operates equipment according to policy and procedure.
• Performs venipuncture using aseptic technique, 12 lead EKGs, and administers vaccinations.
• Participates in implementation and evaluation of care plan including long and short-term goals, nursing actions, and teaching.
• Documents patient care according to standard procedure. Records and reports observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient condition to Provider and/or RN and assists in analyzing and interpreting patient data.

II. Position Qualifications:

• License/Certification/Education:
• Required: Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.
• Required: Current Massachusetts licensure required.
• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience/Skills:
• Required: Knowledge of basic nursing procedures.
• Required: Strong interpersonal skills are required to gather information from individuals, build relationships that support collaborative work within the department and across the organization and provide exceptional service to patients.
