Family Medicine Physician & Core Faculty

POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for providing primary health care to center patients within the structure of the family practice model; in addition, serves on committees, discharges administrative responsibilities, attends departmental meetings; participates in night and weekend on-call coverage rotation. Will assume teaching responsibilities as assigned; assures professional supervision of Nurse Practitioners, Midwives or Physician Assistant provider personnel, including professional interaction with provider support personnel. (60%) Responsible for teaching residents how to care for patients, providing an important bridge allowing residents to grow and become practice-ready while ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care. Demonstrating compassion and commitment to excellence in teaching and patient care, professionalism, and dedication to life-long learning. Employing a scholarly approach to patient care, faculty members, through the graduate medical education system, improve the health of the individual and the population. (40%) EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Graduation from an accredited medical school. Current New York State license is required. Must also have current BLS and infection control certifications. Must have a current DEA Registration. Must have a current certification in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ambulatory – 95%. Sedentary- 5%. Subject to stress and Fatigue. Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye hand coordination when working with patients and equipment. Subject to repeated bending, squatting and stooping.
