Middle School Science and Math Position

Key responsibilities / day-to-day job functions: Foster a Catholic culture in your work with students, colleagues, administration, and parents. Planning and presenting engaging lessons to facilitate students' understanding and application of Science and Math concepts. Preparing and distributing learning material such as notes, assignments, and quizzes. Sourcing the resources and supplies needed for lessons. Maintaining a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to learning. Documenting and reporting on students' progress including grading assignments, quizzes and tests in a timely manner. Collaborate with administrator and colleagues in planning and facilitating middle school activities and events. Attending meetings with parents and staff. Employment is contingent upon passing a criminal background and reference check; must complete Diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training upon hire. Minimum level of Education: College Degree Minimum amount of Work Experience: 1-3 years preferred Area of related work experience: Science and Math experience Applicants should hold a North Carolina teaching certificate in Science and Math, grades 6-8. Preferred Qualifications: Practicing Catholics in good standing with the Church who have prior teaching experience in a Catholic school setting preferred. Demonstrated ability to provide a differentiated instructional environment that incorporates a wide range of instructional strategies, including cooperative and project based learning, independent and small group activities with hands‑on learning experiences. #J-18808-Ljbffr
