Sr. Project Engineer Manager – Pepsi Bottling Ventures Job Description Pepsi Bottling Ventures is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer Manager to join our engineering team. The primary function of this position is to lead and execute strategic capital projects that drive productivity, optimize value, and promote growth across PBV’s operations. Sr. Project Engineer Manager Role Overview As part of the engineering portfolio, you will build and manage internal and external relationships to implement project initiatives. The role interacts with Operations, Commercial, Demand Planning, and other key units. You will work directly with manufacturing and warehouse sites to develop, modify, and implement plans for capacity and program initiatives. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Capital Project Management Lead the delivery of large, complex, and/or multi‑site capital projects from concept to closure. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, and safety compliance. Report project progress to business sponsors and stakeholders. Establish robust project governance, change management, reporting, and assurance processes. Drive optimization of vertical startup methodology on all projects. Own and maintain project knowledge documents, drawings, and media. Collaborate on vendor selections, contract development, equipment procurement, and overall execution. Supervise and coordinate site activities including demolition, delivery, installation, and commissioning. Identify and execute cost‑saving programs to support business productivity metrics. Enforce safety and cleanliness procedures on the job site. Implement lean and standard work principles to improve efficiencies. Build strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Lead feasibility studies, option analysis, front‑end loading, and business case development. Prepare project documents such as charters, budgets, drawings, specifications, and schedules. Conduct design reviews, feasibility studies, and determine design criteria per standards and codes. Commercial & Financial Management Own project financial performance, activities, and reporting including capital expenditure, cashflow, forecasting, and contingency management. Drive procurement strategies, RFQs, bid selections, PR/PO creation, and asset capitalization. Partner with PBV procurement for contract negotiations. Portfolio & Stakeholder Management Collaborate with senior stakeholders across engineering, supply chain, innovation, finance, and leadership. Balance competing priorities across the capital portfolio and support investment decisions. Act as a key interface between business sponsors and project stakeholders. Technical Leadership, Coaching & Knowledge Sharing Provide technical guidance and coaching to engineering and project team members. Coordinate and support new equipment training with plant leadership. Model best‑practice project management behaviors through execution and documentation. Continuous Improvement & Change Management Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, process, and efficiency. Lead structured change management for complex operational and organizational impacts. Capture lessons learned and embed improvements into future deliveries. Engineering Collaborate on network and plant strategies for capacity growth, productivity, innovation, and sustainability. Develop project scope and technical specifications for infrastructure, equipment, and warehouse systems. Identify, assess, and select best‑in‑class technologies to support business processes. Provide technical support to other project managers and PBV teams (IT, EHS, Quality, Facilities). Environmental, Health & Safety Lead and promote a high level of safety, including PBV’s Good Catch program. Ensure engineering activities meet or exceed PBV’s EH&S policies. Identify hazards, recommend strategies, and participate in investigations. Demonstrate visible safety leadership across all project activities. Mitigate critical risks associated with projects and operations. Review all activities for safety compliance. Report accidents and incidents on appropriate forms and resolution. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related engineering discipline. Master’s degree is a plus. Five or more years of capital engineering project–based experience. Three or more years of supervisory experience is a plus. Five or more years in the food and beverage or similar CPG industry. PMP certification preferred. Six Sigma certificate preferred. Valid driver’s license with required PBV driving qualifications. Strong knowledge‑management, process, and communication skills. Knowledge of primary and secondary packaging equipment and processes. Experience with technologies for CSDs, juices, teas, and pasteurization is highly preferred. Strong collaboration and team‑building skills. Assertive, self‑motivated, result‑oriented in a fast‑paced environment. Proficient with CAD, MS Project, MS365, and SAP is a plus. Willingness to work weekends or off‑hours and travel up to 40% per year, nationally and internationally.
