Project Engineer

We are looking for highly motivated individuals who enjoy the challenge of working on projects in the growing utility construction industry to support our Underground Civil Division.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage project engineering and related personnel functions and activities. Includes personnel planning and administration, work assignments.
• Insures project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and supports overall construction schedule.
• Provides technical support for construction efforts including participation in construction planning; interpretation of design; application of construction methods; resolution and documentation of conflicts; constructability reviews, etc.
• Develops, implements and administers project engineering, project controls, and document control procedures.
• Represents the Company, project and/or department during A/E, client and project management meetings.
• Collaborates with field oversight to resolve conflicts, ensure quality of construction, and monitor timely execution of assigned projects.
• Follows all requirements of the company's safety program. Takes personal responsibility for safety in working environment. Promotes safety among peers, subordinates and supervisors.
• Performs additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Minimum 4 years construction project engineering, field support or similar experience

LICENSE: Possess or ability to obtain a valid class C California driver's license

SKILLS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes standards, etc., plus an in depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional unities required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, plus demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied disciplines.
• Working conditions consists of temperature-controlled buildings or offices, outside elements such as rain, cold, and heat when working with in open environments, driving from various locations or attending meetings, etc. Noise levels are moderate to loud depending on work location.
