About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00); Night 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00) Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: Active New York Single State RN license Certifications: OB-ACLS or ACLS, BLS, EFM certification, NRP Must-Have: EPIC charting experience required Description: Position involves providing care to all pregnant patients at any gestational age. The role requires assisting with vaginal deliveries and circulating for C-sections. Recovery for C-sections is also part of the responsibilities. Knowledge of Magnesium Sulfate therapy, Pitocin administration, and Terbutaline is required. Performing APGAR scores and ensuring proper ID/security banding for newborns is expected. Utilization of radiant warmers for thermoregulation is mandatory. Invasive procedures such as Foley catheter insertion and management are part of the skill set. Management of fundus, lochia, and perineum care is essential. Addressing postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension is critical. Experience with Non-Stress Tests and use of external fetal heart monitoring is necessary. Placement and calibration of intrauterine pressure catheters is required. All team members are expected to float within their skill set when needed. Support for family-centered births and lactation services is encouraged. The unit aims for high-performing outcomes in maternity care.
