About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Procurement to oversee and manage all aspects of product procurement. This includes program negotiation with manufacturers, staff management, and the achievement of corporate goals related to profitability and marketing programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and training associates, managing inventory levels, and ensuring the efficiency of the purchasing department. Interaction with customers and vendors to maintain service levels and the development of purchasing strategies based on industry knowledge are also key responsibilities. Applicants for the Vice President of Procurement position at the company should have a Diploma/GED or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 6-7 years in procurement or a related area, including supervisory experience. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, along with over 7 years of experience in procurement with a focus on the food service industry. The role requires a candidate with a strong background in procurement, particularly in the food distribution or related industry, and a proven track record in staff management and program negotiation. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the food service industry, be adept at improving purchasing strategies, and be able to ensure the company's financial position is enhanced through effective inventory management and vendor negotiations.
