About the Role Our Client is seeking a strategic finance leader VP Finance to lead the finance and G&A function end-to-end. This individual will serve as a trusted business partner to the founders and executive leadership team, working closely with the Board of Directors and investors to support the company's continued growth. This is a highly visible, high-impact opportunity for a finance executive who combines strong strategic thinking, executive presence, and hands-on execution in a high-growth, venture-backed technology environment. Key Responsibilities Strategic Finance & Business Partnership Serve as a trusted advisor to the founders and leadership team on financial, operational, and strategic decisions. Partner closely with the Board and investors, presenting financial performance, forecasts, strategic initiatives, and business trade-offs with confidence and clarity. Lead company-wide financial planning, including budgeting, forecasting, scenario modeling, and performance analysis. Own and continuously refine the long-range financial model, capital planning strategy, and key operating metrics. Deliver actionable insights that support growth, profitability, and capital efficiency. Finance & G&A Leadership Oversee and scale the entire finance function, including financial operations, reporting, controls, planning, and compliance. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, KPI tracking, and board-ready financial materials. Establish and optimize scalable financial processes, systems, and controls to support growth. Drive automation and implementation of modern finance tools to improve efficiency and business visibility. Partner with Sales, Revenue Operations, and Customer Success teams to evaluate pricing, deal structures, margin profiles, and commercial investments. Support and potentially lead deal desk activities, providing insight into profitability, risk, and financial trade-offs. Analyze revenue performance, customer economics, ACVs, pipeline trends, sales cycles, and revenue mix to inform executive decision-making. Provide financial leadership around enterprise and strategic customer opportunities. Board, Investor & Stakeholder Management Own and/or support board reporting, including financial performance, key metrics, variance analysis, and forward-looking recommendations. Foster strong relationships with current and prospective investors through clear, credible, and data-driven communication. Provide calm, thoughtful leadership during periods of ambiguity, rapid growth, or heightened business pressure. Serve as a steady voice of reason and strategic perspective across the organization. Evaluate current capabilities and design the appropriate finance organization structure to support future growth. Recruit, develop, and lead a lean, high-performing finance team. Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Leverage automation, systems, and process improvements before adding organizational complexity or headcount. Ideal Candidate Profile Required Experience Experience within a high-growth, venture-backed technology company, ideally in B2B SaaS, enterprise software, benefits, fintech, or related sectors. Strong foundation in FP&A, strategic finance, corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, or a similar analytical environment. Proven ability to partner effectively with founders, CEOs, executive teams, boards, and investors. Demonstrated success helping organizations scale from approximately $10M-$20M+ in revenue through significant growth stages. Deep understanding of SaaS metrics, revenue modeling, unit economics, pricing strategy, and financial decision-making. Experience building financial infrastructure, processes, and teams in a scaling environment. Executive Presence & Leadership Exceptional executive presence with the confidence to engage effectively with founders, board members, investors, and senior executives. Ability to navigate high-stakes conversations, resolve competing priorities, and build alignment among diverse stakeholders. Comfortable making difficult decisions, operating independently, and assuming ownership in ambiguous situations. Outstanding communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear business recommendations. Requirements Location: Based in, or willing to relocate to, the New York tri-state area (New York, Connecticut, or New Jersey). Work Arrangement: Ability to work in-person with the leadership team in New York 2-3 days per week. Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States.
