Bench Technician

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Bench Technician role based in WoodDale, IL. The Bench Technician will inspect, test, calibrate, and repair weighing and measuring equipment in a workshop environment. Daily responsibilities include troubleshooting electronic and mechanical issues, performing soldering and component‑level repairs, and using test equipment to verify performance and accuracy. The role also involves documenting work performed, following established procedures, and maintaining a clean, organized bench area. The Bench Technician will collaborate with technical support and customer service teams to ensure equipment is returned to customers in proper working condition and within agreed timelines. Qualifications Proficiency with soldering and safe handling of electronic components for repair and rework tasks. Skilled in the use of common hand tools for assembly, disassembly, adjustment, and mechanical repair. Strong troubleshooting abilities for diagnosing electronic and mechanical issues at the bench level. Experience using test equipment (such as multimeters and PC tools) to evaluate and verify equipment performance. Prior technical support or service experience in an electronics, industrial, or laboratory environment is beneficial. Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and service manuals. Attention to detail, accurate recordkeeping, and commitment to quality and safety standards. High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or an associate degree in electronics, instrumentation, or a related field is a plus.
