Associate Buyer

Position Overview We are seeking an energetic and motivated Associate Buyer to join our Purchasing Department. This role is ideal for someone bright, detail-oriented, and eager to grow into the responsibilities of a Buyer. As an Associate Buyer, you’ll work directly with the VP of Purchasing and our team of Buyers, gaining hands-on experience in sourcing fresh ingredients, managing vendor relationships, and monitoring market trends. In addition to supporting purchasing decisions, you’ll handle some of the clerical and administrative tasks that keep the department running smoothly — such as managing purchase orders, maintaining records, and preparing reports. This balance allows you to learn the full scope of purchasing while contributing immediately to the team’s success. Over time, you’ll take on greater responsibility and expand your role within the department. Responsibilities Support the VP of Purchasing and Buyers in day-to-day purchasing operations. Monitor inventory levels and assist in planning purchases to meet customer demand. Communicate with vendors to confirm product details, pricing, and delivery schedules. Track market trends and compile reports to inform purchasing decisions. Collaborate with warehouse and quality control teams to ensure product quality and resolve issues. Handle administrative responsibilities such as purchase orders, records, and reports to keep the department running smoothly. Qualifications Strong organizational and analytical skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Self-motivated with a willingness to learn Comfortable in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) Some exposure to purchasing, supply chain, or foodservice industry preferred Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred Why Join Royal Food Service?
