Position Description Lincoln Land Community College is looking for qualified part-time instructors to teach face to face Anthropology classes during the day at our main campus in Springfield. Opportunities to teach online courses may be available; however, instructors must first complete our required online teaching training. Applicants must reside in Illinois for the duration of their employment. As an Adjunct Faculty member at LLCC, you will receive one paid absence per class, per semester; free access to the LLCC Fitness Center (during available hours); a travel stipend if commuting more than twenty miles to campus; and a tuition waiver benefit for adjunct faculty and their dependents under the age of 22. Position Requirements Applicants must possess a master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours of coursework in Anthropology. Prior to receiving a teaching assignment, successful candidates will complete the college’s 12-week New Online Faculty program designed to prepare faculty to teach online. Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check. Employee Only $7.86; Employee plus spouse $15.72; Employee plus child(ren) $17.30; Employee plus family $25.16. Life insurance: LLCC provides term-life insurance for employees, with coverage up to the lesser of two times annual base salary or $200,000. No monthly premium for employee. Voluntary life insurance, Dependent life insurance, Critical illness and cancer insurance, Accident insurance, Long-Term disability insurance, Hospital indemnity insurance, Unreimbursed medical account (with LLCC contributions and possible employee match). Dependent care flexible spending account (DCAP). Health Savings Account (HSA): LLCC contributes $3,100 for fiscal year 2026. Details on installment dates and eligible expenses. Retirement plan: State Universities Retirement System (SURS) with pre-tax contributions; no Social Security coordination; 1.45% Medicare payroll deduction. Deferred compensation: 403(b), 457, Roth IRA options available.
