Billing Readiness CoordinatorSerenity Hospice Care NJ is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, persistent and proactive Billing Readiness Coordinator to join our team. This is an important administrative and clinical-support position responsible for overseeing our daily billing readiness and claims-hold process and making sure issues are identified, assigned, followed up on, and resolved before they impact the billing cycle.The Billing Readiness Coordinator serves as the central point of coordination for identifying issues that could prevent hospice claims from being billed. You will oversee the billing-hold process from identification to assignment to correction to verification to release to Billing.This position is ideal for an experienced LPN who has strong clinical process knowledge, excellent follow-through, and the ability to communicate clearly with multiple departments and hold staff accountable for resolving outstanding issues.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain and monitor a daily billing-hold tracking system.Assign billing holds to the appropriate department or responsible individual.Monitor the age of outstanding holds and ensure timely follow-up.Track issues through completion and verify that corrections have been made before releasing claims to Billing.Follow the established escalation process when issues remain unresolved.Coordinate with clinical, administrative, and leadership teams to resolve billing-readiness concerns.Conduct or assist with a daily billing-readiness huddle with key department representatives.Route billing holds based on department responsibility rather than distributing unnecessary information to multiple departments.Identify recurring problems and communicate trends to leadership.Monitor physician orders requiring follow-up and ensure appropriate action is completed.Support the Daily Pre-Billing Readiness Report to identify and resolve problems before the billing cycle.Track the financial impact of billing holds, including estimated dollars being held.Prepare reports regarding:Total claims currently on holdClaims resolved since the previous reportRemaining claims on holdHolds by reason and departmentHolds exceeding 3 daysOldest outstanding holdsEstimated dollars heldSignificant or recurring issues requiring leadership attentionCommon Issues You Will MonitorThe Billing Readiness Coordinator will help identify and route issues including:Unsigned physician ordersMissing physician certifications/recertificationsIncomplete RN documentationIncomplete HHA documentationIncomplete Social Work/Chaplain documentationMissing visit notesVisit frequency or order mismatchesMissing or incorrect authorizationsElection, consent, or document issuesLevel-of-care entriesEMR/system issuesOther unidentified billing holdsRequired QualificationsCurrent, active New Jersey LPN licenseMinimum 2 years of nursing experienceHCHB experience preferredHospice or palliative care experience preferredStrong understanding of documentation and clinical workflowsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational and analytical abilitiesExcellent problem-solving skillsAbility to prioritize and manage multiple outstanding issuesAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with a teamStrong attention to detail and follow-throughComfortable working with reports, tracking systems, and deadlinesFull Time 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday through FridaySerenity Hospice Care provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
