Responsibilities

• Review admission data to establish the appropriate level of care using InterQual criteria.
• Integrate clinical knowledge with billing considerations to review, evaluate, and appeal clinical denials related to hospital care.
• Conduct concurrent reviews to determine continued need for acute care, appropriateness and timeliness of treatments/procedures, and potential reimbursement impact.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to assess and improve denial management, documentation, and appeals processes.
• Partner with the UR Manager and/or physician advisor regarding cases that do not meet established guidelines for admission or continued stay.
• Act as liaison between physicians and payers, coordinating peer-to-peer communications as needed.
• Collect and compile data as required to support case management activities.

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license
• BLS certification (AHA)
• 3–5 years of experience in a case management or related setting
• Education: Registered Nurse (RN) with MA licensure
• Preferred: ACM, CCM, or CMAC credentials
• Ability to work in a hospital setting
• Travel eligibility: No local travelers accepted; candidates must reside outside 50 miles of the assignment location
• Start date readiness for 06/29/2026 and availability for a 13-week assignment
