Key Responsibilities of the RN - ICU - Intensive Care Unit

• Provide competent care based on established standards
• Execute clinical practice, service excellence, and professional development
• Assume roles such as charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member
• Conduct Q1 neuro checks, manage EVDs, lumbar drains, and sub-dural drains
• Administer 3% NS and cardene drips, handle arterial lines and carotid endarterectomy
• Assist with aneurysm coil/clips, DBS Insertion, VP shunts, and seizure management

Requirements of the RN - ICU - Intensive Care Unit

• MUST HAVE STEPDOWN/PCU EXPERIENCE
• Two (2) years of experience
• BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY)
• Telemetry Experience
• High acuity stroke and neurosurgery experience
• RN License (NY License ONLY)
• NIHSS certification REQUIRED
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY) preferred
