The Registered Nurse / RN for Surgical Unit under minimal supervision provides nursing care for a group of patients assigned to the nurse based on matching the patients’ needs with the nurse’s competencies. The Registered Nurse / RN completes established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Preferred: Academic degree in nursing (Bachelor's or Master's degree). Experience: Preferred: 2 years in acute care for Med/Surg as Registered Nurse / RN. Certifications: Required: Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse / RN. BLS required for all – Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network.
