Resident Support Specialist

Level: Experienced • Job Location: Cedartown Campus - Cedartown, GA 30125 • Position Type: Full Time • Education Level: High School • Job Shift: Any • Resident Support Specialist Essential Functions and Responsibilities Respond to crisis calls and assess the situation promptly and efficiently. Collaborate with clinical staff (Core and Nursing). Provide immediate support to individuals in crisis, including stabilization. Develop crisis management plans tailored to the needs of the individual. Document all interventions and interactions accurately. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and service providers as needed. Follow up with clients to ensure their ongoing safety and wellbeing. Participate in ongoing training and professional development. Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Show compassion and patience with a strong desire to help others. Remain calm and composed in stressful situations. Engage in direct communication with individuals, attempting to de‑escalate the situation while evaluating the severity of the crisis. Assist in developing a plan of action to help manage and mitigate the crisis. Establish immediate rapport with youth. May be asked to transport residents to the Emergency Department. Qualifications Must be twenty‑one (21) years of age or older, maintain a current valid driver’s license, be able to pass a criminal background check, pass a drug screen, possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, and be physically and emotionally fit to perform the job duties. Education Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Additional Eligibility Qualifications Proficiency in a mental health/human services agency. Proficiency in working with children, adolescents, and their families. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with using the internet and Microsoft Word.
