What You'll Do

As the CDL Class A Yard Hostler, you will be responsible for safely moving and setting up our semi-trucks around our facility yard at night. When there are no semi-trucks to set up, you will assist with warehouse support, such as being a spotter for forklifts, loading semi-trucks using a forklift, helping with loading changes, and sorting paperwork.

Key Relationships: You will report directly to our Transportation Manager in our Chino, CA facility.

Location: This position is based in Chino, California.

Shift:

• Monday through Friday from 6:00pm to 3:00am + overtime as needed

Responsibilities:

• Safely maneuver and reposition semi-trucks within the facility throughout the night to ensure efficient loading and unloading operations.
• Serve as a spotter during forklift loading activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed and that materials are loaded accurately and efficiently.
• Collaborate with the loading team to implement and manage loading changes as necessary, ensuring that all adjustments are communicated clearly and executed effectively.
• Sort, organize and maintain accurate paperwork related to truck movements and loading activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Provide support in the yard as needed, including assisting other team members with tasks related to loading and unloading, maintaining a clean work environment, and addressing any operational needs that arise.

Who You Are

You are an ideal candidate if you:

• You have a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
• You can drive standard/manual transmission
• You are comfortable driving large vehicles in tight spaces
• You have your high school diploma or GED
• You have a safe driving record
• You have experience operating a forklift (preferred, not required)
• You are bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred, not required)
• Ability to perform physical work (e.g. pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.)
• You love to learn, work as a team, ask questions, and continue to grow.
• You have a "can-do" attitude and approach
• Safety is key to you

In adherence to the principle of pay transparency, we are pleased to disclose the base pay for this full-time position at Metrie. The base pay for this role is starting at $24.00 per hour. The specific base pay within the range will be contingent upon an individual's skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.
