Job Description
Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Schedule

Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (06:45 - 19:15). Weekend rotation required, with 4-6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) and 2 Fridays per 6-week schedule. Holiday requirements include one major holiday (Thanksgiving or Christmas) and 1-2 minor holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, or Labor Day).

Assignment Details

2 mandatory on-call shifts each 6-week scheduling period. No guaranteed hours.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with community hospital experience preferred.
• Current BLS, FHM, and NRP certifications required; AWHONN Advanced and Intermediate are preferred.
• Experience in IV therapy and phlebotomy, labor and delivery management, and neonatal care is required.
• Familiarity with Epic EMR system is required.
• Ability to provide full couplet care and float within the LDRP unit as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Manage labor and delivery, assisting with vaginal deliveries and circulating for C-sections.
• Monitor fetal heart rates and administer medications including antihypertensives, magnesium sulfate, and Pitocin.
• Provide postpartum care including support with breastfeeding, wound care, and discharge teaching.
• Conduct antepartum care procedures and assessments, including NSTs and triaging obstetrical patients.
• Administer pain management options such as epidural anesthesia and general anesthesia as necessary.
• Support neonatal care at delivery and assist in education for new parents.
