Senior HPC Engineer - GPU & AI Compute Infra & Automation

I'm working with a leading quantitative trading firm hiring a Senior HPC Engineer to help build and scale large-scale HPC and GPU infrastructure supporting AI, machine learning and quantitative research. This is a senior, hands-on role focused on designing, building and operating high-throughput compute environments across Linux, GPU, storage and scheduling layers. You'll own critical parts of the platform end-to-end and work closely with researchers and infrastructure specialists to improve performance, scalability and reliability. What you'll be doing:

• Design, build and operate large-scale HPC and GPU clusters
• Manage high-throughput compute environments across thousands of CPU cores and hundreds of GPUs
• Work closely with researchers and data scientists to support AI and ML workloads
• Architect and maintain high-performance storage systems
• Optimise scheduling, networking and storage performance
• Build automation and infrastructure-as-code for provisioning and lifecycle management
• Improve cluster reliability, monitoring and operational tooling
• Experiment with scheduling models, cluster architecture and GPU utilisation
• Produce documentation and reusable tooling across the platform

Looking for:

• 5+ years building and operating HPC environments
• Deep experience with Slurm or similar schedulers
• Strong GPU infrastructure experience, ideally NVIDIA
• Experience with parallel or scale-out storage systems
• Strong understanding of compute, networking and storage performance tuning
• Experience building production-grade infrastructure at scale
• Strong automation skills using Python, Bash or infrastructure-as-code
