Fabrication Shop Foreman Apopka, FL Description The Fabrication Shop Foreman monitors production output, supervises staff, and ensures that products meet customer specifications and quality expectations. Responsibilities include the efficiency of operations and scheduling production. They ensure the shop stays on schedule and within budget. The Shop Foreman should understand and enforce safety, quality control, and production expectations. Other duties involve developing or improving the training program and overseeing day-to-day operations. Responsibilities Planning & Execution of the Fabrication Shop Direct supervision of shop employees Responsible and accountable for shop organization, cleanliness, quality, and safety environment. Thinks LEAN: Constantly seeking ways to improve efficiency, quality, and cost control where applicable. Maintain a clean and organized manufacturing facility Supervise manufacturing activities to achieve optimum productivity and accuracy. Be not afraid to jump in and work to ensure the job gets done. Lead, train, develop, and mentor all departmental assigned team members Maintain discipline to procedures, in accordance with safety, quality, engineering, human resources, and finance department guidelines. Overseeing the preventative maintenance of all operating equipment Daily space planning for the shop Daily/weekly labor planning Assigning work duties and monitoring those work duties to maintain schedules Actively promotes and adheres to company safety policies and goals of ZERO accidents, ZERO Injuries Maintains and monitors tool inventory and inventory checklists. Efficiency improvement proposals/data produced Basic Requirements Proficiency in reading and following blueprints, shop drawings and fabrication drawings. Must be familiar with standard construction concepts, practices, and procedures. Experience with scheduling crews and job timelines. Basic Computer Skills including but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook Email, Data entry, Calendars, Video Conferencing, SharePoint, and file management in the cloud or on the server. Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Must have reliable transportation. Preferred Requirements 5 years of welding and/or fabrication experience 2 years of managing/supervising employees Good written and verbal communication skills Great people skills, delegating to coworkers, communicating with company managers, customers Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment Employment Type: Full Time Bonus/Commission: No
