Why is this Respiratory Therapist role different At Apria, you’ll experience a unique blend of clinical autonomy, meaningful patient interaction, and supportive team collaboration. This role provides a balance between time in the branch and time in the field, allowing you to develop strong patient-facing clinical skills while maintaining workflow independence. Key Highlights Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (flexible) Work Arrangement: On-site; 70% in the office, 30% on the road Driving Distance: Up to 1.5 hours one way (typically 30–40 minutes) On-Call: Every 2 weeks, rotating with the other RT; may assist with Driver duties if willing. Salary Range $35 - $40/hr per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, education and location. On-Call transparency Rotation frequency: Every 2 weeks per month. May assist with Driver duties if willing. What you’ll do Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow‑ups Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and elevate concerns appropriately Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs Performs other duties as required What we look for Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active OH RT license Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs. Valid driver’s license Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation Education Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy Hold a current CPR Certification Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice Teammate Benefits As an Accendra Health employee, you have choices to fit your life.
