Belcan is hiring Level II CNC Machinists and CNC Operators for a weekend day shift at a large, established precision-manufacturing facility in Dillon, South Carolina. You will operate CNC mills and/or CNC lathes to produce complex components used in demanding aerospace, defense and industrial applications. This is a long-term contract-to-hire opportunity with potential conversion eligibility after 520 hours, based on performance and business needs. What You'll Do
- Operate CNC mills, CNC lathes or related machining equipment
- Manufacture precision parts from blueprints, work orders and process instructions
- Load parts, fixtures, tooling and established CNC programs
- Perform machine setups, tool changes and offset adjustments based on experience
- Complete first-piece and in-process dimensional inspections
- Use calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges and other precision-measuring tools
- Recognize out-of-tolerance conditions and make appropriate corrections or escalations
- Monitor tooling, coolant, oil levels and machine performance
- Complete routine preventive-maintenance checks
- Maintain accurate production and inspection documentation
- Follow all plant safety, quality, PPE and 6S requirements
- Communicate production issues and unfinished work between shifts
- High school diploma or GED
- At least two years of hands-on experience operating CNC mills or CNC lathes, or equivalent machining education or military experience
- Ability to identify the machines, controls, axes, materials and parts you have personally worked with
- Ability to read blueprints, dimensions and tolerance requirements
- Experience using calipers, micrometers and other precision-measuring instruments
- Ability to provide specific examples of numerical tolerances you have maintained
- Ability to work Friday-Sunday, 6:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
- Ability to work safely for 12-hour shifts while wearing required PPE
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 35 pounds
- U.S. citizenship or permanent-resident status is required because of the facility's government-contract work
- Independent CNC setup, touch-offs and work coordinates
- Tool, wear, geometry or work-offset adjustments
- First-piece inspection and correction of out-of-tolerance parts
- Speeds and feeds adjustments or basic G-code edits
- Machining stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, nickel alloys, forgings or other demanding materials
- Aerospace, defense, automotive or precision-manufacturing experience
- CNC machining certificate, Machine Tool Technology education or military machining experience
- Consistent three-day weekend workweek with four days off
- Level II role focused on hands-on CNC mill and lathe experience
