First Grade Teacher

Summary Grapeland Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and passionate First Grade Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. The ideal candidate will foster a positive and engaging learning environment for our young learners, focusing on their academic, social, and emotional development. This full‑time position requires a commitment to creating a nurturing classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and cater to the diverse needs of students. Create a positive classroom environment that promotes respect, teamwork, and a sense of community among students. Utilize a variety of teaching methods and instructional materials to engage students and accommodate different learning styles. Assess and monitor student progress through regular evaluations, providing constructive feedback to students and parents. Establish and maintain effective communication with parents, guardians, and colleagues regarding student performance and classroom activities. Collaborate with other educators and staff to enhance the educational experience and support student learning. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and innovations. Manage classroom behavior effectively, fostering a safe and respectful learning environment. Organize and participate in school events, parent‑teacher conferences, and other community engagement activities. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field. Valid teaching certification for elementary education in the state. Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies for young learners. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and colleagues. Proficiency in using educational technology and tools to enhance learning experiences. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. A passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
