McPherson College is seeking an experienced, hands-on Custodial Supervisor to lead our custodial team while helping maintain a beautiful, clean, and welcoming campus. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys leading by example. As Custodial Supervisor, you'll work alongside your team while coordinating daily operations, training employees, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring every campus facility reflects the pride we take in serving our students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Why McPherson College? McPherson College is one of the Midwest's most distinctive private colleges. We have been recognized multiple times as a Great College to Work For and are proud of our collaborative, supportive campus culture. This is an exciting time to join the College. We're investing nearly $70 million in new construction and campus improvements, making this one of the most active periods of growth in our history. Our Facilities Management team is central to that success, ensuring our classrooms, residence halls, athletic facilities, and public spaces remain clean, safe, and ready to support student life. McPherson College is also home to the nation's premier Automotive Restoration program—the only bachelor's degree program of its kind in the United States. We're financially strong, mission-driven, and committed to providing an exceptional environment where students and employees can thrive. What You'll Do As Custodial Supervisor, you'll split your time between working with the custodial team and providing day‑to‑day leadership. Your primary responsibilities will include: Working alongside custodial staff to clean classrooms, offices, residence halls, athletic facilities, and public spaces. Planning daily work assignments and coordinating custodial coverage across campus. Training new employees on cleaning procedures, equipment, safety practices, and College standards. Coaching, mentoring, and supporting custodial staff while fostering a positive team environment. Conducting building inspections to ensure consistent quality and cleanliness. Coordinating major cleaning projects, including floor refinishing, carpet cleaning, wall washing, and summer deep‑cleaning activities. Evaluating new custodial products and equipment to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Maintaining custodial checklists, records, schedules, and performance evaluations. Collaborating with other Facilities Management staff to support special events and campus operations. This is a leadership position where you'll have a direct impact on the appearance of the campus and the success of your team. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who enjoys serving others, leading by example, and taking pride in maintaining a beautiful campus. The ability to perform the physical requirements of custodial work, including lifting up to approximately 50 pounds and remaining active throughout the workday. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience will be considered.
