Job Description

Loyal Source Government Services is looking for 50 full-time Medical Support Assistants to provide services to Hampton VA Medical Center in Hampton, VA.


Job Summary : Medical Support Assistants must provide a variety of technical support duties that facilitate the work of physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nursing assistants, and other members of the medical facility providing direct patient care to our Veteran population located at the Hampton VA Medical Center in Hampton, VA. Medical Support Assistants are required to deliver high-quality, compassionate, and consistent care to individuals.


Pay Rate: $17.95 / hr + $5.09 H&W fringe


Duties :


• Assist the HIM service in scanning and/or uploading outside medical records into the EMR.

• Answer general administrative questions from Veterans
• Greet all customers in a courteous and efficient manner, and administratively triage the customer's needs and assist in connecting them with the appropriate staff member to resolve
• Performing patient scheduling and general reception functions at a medical center or outpatient clinic.
• Processing claims for reimbursement for patient-related travel (mileage reimbursement and vendor claims) and dispatch assistance for the Veterans Transportation Service at each medical center.
• Assistance with processing claims for Eligibility and Enrollment at all VA Medical Centers in the network, as well as general reception support for all administrative offices at the facilities.
• Scan insurance cards, protect secure information, and complete all insurance capture buffer (ICB) encounters required by ICB
• Monitor recall reminder processes and delinquencies
• Enter recall reminders in the Veterans Health Information System Technology Architecture (Vista) Scheduling Graphical User Interface (GUI)

Qualification(s):

• Citizen of the United States.
• Type an average of 40 words per minute
• A minimum of Six (6) months of experience in clerical, office, customer service, or other administrative work.
• One year of education above high school or one to two years of related job experience

Additional Information:

• Work Schedule (Monday-Friday):
  • 07:00AM-3:30PM
  • 7:30AM-4:00PM
  • 8:00AM-4:30PM
  • With a one-half (½) hour lunch period and two 15-minute breaks
• Benefits: W2 pay package with paid leave, holidays and eligibility for health insurance options.
