Job Description

Description:

The eDiscovery Project Coordinator provides senior-level technical and project support for complex electronic discovery matters in a federal litigation environment. The position coordinates the technical aspects of eDiscovery databases, works with attorneys and litigation teams to develop effective technical strategies, and supports database design, data processing, document review, analysis, and production activities.

This role also supports the strategic and legal aspects of electronic discovery, including participation in Rule 26(f) conferences, preparation of technical affidavits or supporting documentation, and development of statistical and case-related reports. The successful candidate will combine extensive Relativity and data-processing expertise with strong eDiscovery project management, communication, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the technical aspects of electronic discovery databases supporting complex litigation matters.
  • Consult with attorneys and litigation teams to develop and apply technical strategies responsive to legal, discovery, and case-management requirements.
  • Translate case objectives into appropriate database designs, data-processing workflows, review approaches, analyses, and production strategies.
  • Assist litigation teams with the strategic and legal aspects of electronic discovery.
  • Coordinate eDiscovery activities across data processing, database loading, document review, analysis, quality control, and production.
  • Participate in legal proceedings and discovery-planning activities, including Rule 26(f) conferences.
  • Prepare technical affidavits and other supporting documentation, as required.
  • Oversee the creation, validation, and delivery of statistical and case-related reports.
  • Coordinate project priorities, schedules, dependencies, client expectations, and technical risks.
  • Apply eDiscovery technologies, processes, and industry best practices to large-scale matters involving complex discovery challenges.
  • Coordinate with technical personnel to resolve database, processing, review, and production issues.
  • Assist remote users with accessing, navigating, and working within Relativity workspaces.
  • Communicate project status, emerging concerns, and recommended solutions to litigation teams and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain organized documentation supporting technical decisions, project activities, workflows, and deliverables.
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to eDiscovery personnel supporting assigned matters.
Requirements:
  • At least five years of experience providing eDiscovery services and litigation support for large, complex matters involving significant eDiscovery challenges.
  • Extensive experience using Relativity or RelativityOne.
  • Extensive experience processing electronically stored information and managing associated technical workflows.
  • Thorough understanding of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model and its application throughout the eDiscovery lifecycle.
  • Experience managing or coordinating eDiscovery projects and related technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating database design, data processing, document review, analysis, quality control, and production activities.
  • Advanced experience planning eDiscovery efforts, managing client expectations, and working with clients to minimize legal, technical, and operational risk.
  • Proficiency across a wide range of relevant technologies.
  • Knowledge of eDiscovery industry best practices, including the tools and processes used to support large-scale, complex eDiscovery matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist remote users with accessing and navigating Relativity workspaces.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced production environment, maintain appropriate priorities, and manage schedules under extremely tight deadlines.
  • Managerial, supervisory, or technical team-lead experience.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively to attorneys, litigation professionals, technical personnel, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required U.S. Government Public Trust suitability determination.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, information technology, information management, or a related discipline.
  • Relativity or another recognized eDiscovery certification.
  • Experience working in a legal or litigation support environment.
  • Trial support experience.
