Registered Nurse (RN)

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients in the Emergency Department. Utilizing the Nursing Process and adhering to state Nurse Practice Act guidelines and hospital policies, the RN plays a critical role in patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. The nurse is expected to demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership skills in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to Emergency Room patients.
• Employ critical thinking and scientific judgment in patient assessment.
• Plan and implement care strategies to ensure patient safety and well-being.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education and skill development.
• Delegate patient care priorities based on staff qualifications and experience.
• Supervise and direct personnel assigned to patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Must have an active nursing license in Arizona.
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR is preferred.
• Experience in a charge nurse role is preferred.
• Ability and willingness to float to different units as needed.
• NIH Stroke Certification is recommended but not required.

Work Environment

This position involves working in an Emergency Department that is certified as Trauma Level III and is equipped to receive stroke and STEMI patients. The facility houses 38 beds and provides a dynamic work environment where quick decision-making and adaptability are essential.

Shift Information

Shifts will be scheduled during nighttime hours, specifically from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. The nurse will work a 3x12 schedule with a potential for a 48-hour guarantee.
