ISAP Tutor Position

Zoneton Middle School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered ISAP Tutor to support academic success and positive student growth. The ideal candidate will help provide a structured, quiet learning environment while building strong relationships with students through restorative practices and encouragement.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

• Provide academic support and tutoring to students assigned to ISAP.
• Maintain a quiet, structured, and productive learning environment.
• Support students in completing assignments and staying engaged in learning.
• Use restorative justice practices to build relationships, address conflict, and support student accountability.
• Encourage positive behavior, respect, and problem-solving skills.
• Communicate effectively with teachers and administrators regarding student progress and needs.
• Help students reflect on choices and develop strategies for future success.

Position details:

Hours: 6.5 hours per day (plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch)

Contract Length: 183 days per year

• 170 student instructional days
• 4 holidays
• 7 planning days
• 2 extended days

Contract Adjustments: Contracted days will be prorated based on the start date

Employment Status: Full-time with benefits

Employment Type: 10-month employee on the classified pay schedule

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Must have at least 64 college credits and a 2.5 GPA.
• Documentation: Candidates must provide proof of educational requirements to HR upon recommendation for hire.

Compensation & Experience Credit

2026-2027 Pay Scale

• Starting Pay (Step 0): $24.63/hour
• Experienced Pay (Step 10): $26.97/hour

We value experience! Previous experience working with students, intervention systems, and small-group instruction is strongly desired. New hires may bring up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience.

• The hired applicant is responsible for submitting the BCPS Verification of Experience Form to prior employers for completion and return to HR.

Payroll Note: While this is an hourly position, the salary is distributed via a year-long contract over 10 months. You will receive 4 paychecks at the end of June.

Salary Formula: Hours per day × Hourly rate = Daily rate Daily rate × Contracted days = Annual salary. Annual salary ÷ Remaining pay periods = Gross biweekly pay
