The Job: As a Field Service Technician, you’ll be part of our Nelson Stud Welding commercial team working as an on-site employee. Troubleshoot, maintain, modify, and repair the regional rental fleet, including stud welding systems, power sources, and field diesel vehicles. Troubleshoot, maintain, modify, and repair customer equipment. Assist customers in person and via the telephone with equipment, accessory, and technical problems. Assist sales representatives in person and via the telephone with equipment, accessory, and technical problems. Perform in-house demonstrations for customers. Weld samples for sales representatives and customers. Perform as a boiler outage service technician as required. Perform cycle counts as directed. Perform shipping and receiving responsibilities when required. Complete company deliveries to various customer/warehouse locations as needed. Occasionally perform general building maintenance. You also have: Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, fractions, area, circumference, and volume. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This is the lowest to highest annual full-time salary range we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. The salary offered within the range may vary depending on multiple factors including job level, geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and in compliance with local wage requirements.
