Property Accountant

Our client in the Real Estate Industry is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as a Property Accountant. Base Pay Range $80,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr Responsibilities: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and tax returns for assigned properties. Perform bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance. Apply GAAP-based accounting principles in all reporting and analysis. Develop and manage budgets and financial forecasts for each property. Ensure compliance with tax regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies. Maintain a strong understanding of bonus depreciation and tax accounting. Complete CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations and communicate results to tenants. Review leases to confirm accurate billing, recoveries, and expense allocations. Collaborate with property managers to identify and resolve financial discrepancies. Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly financial reports to stakeholders. Manage debt compliance reporting and documentation. Support annual audits and coordinate the preparation of required materials. Maintain and reconcile fixed asset and depreciation schedules. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. 2 to 5 years of relevant experience. Proven experience in property accounting within commercial real estate. Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting principles. Proficiency with accounting software such as Yardi, MRI, or QuickBooks. Experience with budgeting and financial forecasting. Familiarity with lease administration and tenant reconciliations. Ability to manage multiple properties and meet deadlines. Knowledge of construction accounting and job cost modules.
