Overview This night-shift Med Surg RN job offers a collaborative care environment, strong interdisciplinary support, and a fast-paced patient care setting in the greater Chicago area. You’ll work with a supportive healthcare team, care for a diverse adult and geriatric population, and use Epic for documentation. Job Details Position: Med-Surg Registered Nurse Employment Type: Travel contract Location: Harvey, IL 60426 Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts per week; every other weekend required Weekly Hours: 36 Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,470 - $1,550 Charting: Epic Patient Ratio: 1:6 Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics Floating: Required Job Requirements Active Illinois RN license required Minimum of 2 years of recent Med-Surg nursing experience required BLS and ACLS required NIHSS preferred Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management Telemetry nursing experience strongly valued Strong tracheostomy care and airway management skills Comfort working in a float pool environment Experience with Epic documentation preferred Ability to work nights and every other weekend Responsibilities Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric Med-Surg patients Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor patient status, and respond to changes in condition Manage telemetry needs and interpret dysrhythmias as part of daily patient care Provide tracheostomy care and support airway management needs as assigned Administer medications and treatments in accordance with clinical standards and provider orders Collaborate with therapists, respiratory services, pharmacy, and other support teams Document care accurately in Epic and communicate clearly with the care team Support a positive patient experience while maintaining a high standard of clinical excellence Adapt to floating assignments and contribute to a reliable, team-oriented workflow Apply now to join this Med-Surg travel nursing opportunity in Harvey, Illinois, and make an impact in a supportive healthcare setting near Chicago.
