Job Description
Our Organization - Department of Pediatrics
We are currently looking for a qualified MD/DO physician to join our team in the Division of Emergency Medicine (EM). The ideal candidate will be board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. This position includes an academic faculty appointment that reflects the candidate's accomplishments and offers opportunities to engage in educational, clinical, research, and other academic endeavors within the Department of Pediatrics.
In addition to clinical duties and teaching, there may be chances to collaborate on research projects aligned with personal interests alongside other faculty members. The successful candidate will become part of a dedicated team of 10 full-time faculty members who provide around-the-clock in-house EM coverage. Opportunities for involvement in either clinical or laboratory-based research may also be available.
The clinical services for the Division of Emergency Medicine are provided at our facility in New Brunswick, NJ, which is adjacent to the Bristol Myers Squibb Children's Hospital (BMSCH). The Pediatric Emergency Department is recognized as a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center. BMSCH is a 105-bed acute care facility located on New Jersey's only pediatric academic health campus and has been ranked among America's Best Hospitals by U.S. News and World Report.
Our Department of Pediatrics boasts a comprehensive range of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists. Outpatient services are delivered at the Child Health Institute of New Jersey, which also accommodates our research faculty. The department comprises both physicians and basic scientists who engage in collaborative research focused on disease mechanisms, innovative therapies, epidemiology, and outcomes research pertinent to childhood illnesses. This collaborative environment fosters the exploration of fundamental disease mechanisms and outcomes research, aiming to enhance treatment strategies for pediatric conditions.
Our institution is consistently recognized for its significant NIH funding and is a proud member of the Association of American Universities, which includes the leading research universities in North America.
Located next to the Children's Hospital is the PSE&G Children's Specialized Hospital, one of the largest inpatient acute rehabilitation facilities for children in the nation. Directly across the street is the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, the only NCI-designated center in the state, along with the Ronald McDonald House. As a premier institution in central New Jersey, we offer numerous opportunities for collaboration across various campuses with all health professional and biomedical science schools within Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences.
