Overview Job Title: Adjunct Faculty - Math Location: Indianapolis Job Type: Part-time Classification: Adjunct faculty Salary Range: $48.67 Per Contact Hour Reports To: Department/Program Chair Organization: Ivy Tech Community College is an accredited, equal opportunity/affirmative action employer. Major Responsibilities Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives. Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods. Supplement and alter, where appropriate, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials. Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements. Engage with students proactively and regularly in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech. Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning. Interact with students and co‑workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complying with College policies, guidelines and expectations. Maintain a safe, quality educational environment. Promote an environment that reflects the broad backgrounds represented by our students and employees, where every individual feels respected and valued. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of FERPA, other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards. Qualifications and Experience A qualified faculty member in mathematics meets the discipline standard through one of two routes: Possesses an earned master’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in mathematics; or Possesses an earned master’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in any field with 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics-related courses. A qualified faculty member teaching MATH 122 meets the course standard through one of two routes: Meets the mathematics discipline standard; or Possesses an earned bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with completion of a calculus course (not brief calculus). MATH 0XX Course Standard: A qualified faculty member teaching developmental mathematics meets the course standard through one of three routes: Meets the mathematics discipline standard; or Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree in mathematics from a regionally accredited institution; or Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution, with one of the following: One semester of calculus, or Nine or more semester credit hours of college-level mathematics, or Nine or more semester credit hours of college-level mathematics‑intensive courses. + Application Instructions and Benefits All Applications must include a Cover Letter and an Official or Unofficial Transcript.
